My Valentine

I saw this painting online and thought it was poignant, something that we could hang in the hall so that in future years we can reflect on this period of our lives. It's an extraordinary time that in 100 years from now our great-grandchildren will look back on searching for answers trying to piece together our present in their time. Their opportunity lies in the masses of data we are creating now, a gift for the future that history has always struggled to deliver us.

For me personally last year was difficult, my health dive-bombed and I had to endure months of not being able to walk properly, losing control of my body, and at times my mind. This painting then is the perfect gift to say thank you and happy valentines to my wife, and this is my card (I won't tell her about it, we’ll see how long it takes her to find). Throughout this time, supported by our three girls, one canine, one with an account on here, and one that reminds us of BamBam on the Flintstones she has been my rock.

I invest hours upon hours of study, plowing through books in the pursuit of building habits to become a better person. To her it comes naturally (Socrates would flip me the finger and pat her on the back). Like clockwork she has marshaled this house, whilst I laid on the floor grimacing she kept us all going. Even when we lost our unborn child hers were the footsteps in the sand, never asking for a lighter load, just the occasional hand. At this point, I run out of things to say other than Happy Valentines my wife, you have and are my life. x
